The material
American black walnut.
Rich, warm, timeless.
We use solid American black walnut, one of the most prized hardwoods in American furniture making. The grain is deep chocolate-brown with natural variation that tells the story of the tree it came from.
Walnut takes a hand-rubbed oil finish beautifully and darkens to a rich espresso tone over the years. It’s the wood that looks at home in any style of room.

The Design

The Briarwood is what restraint looks like in furniture. Every edge is squared. Every joint is flush. There’s nothing ornamental competing with the grain because the grain doesn’t need help. It’s the kind of design that gets more interesting the longer you live with it.
The trestle base sits low and wide, giving the table a sense of permanence without bulk. The top is thick enough to feel substantial when you lean on it, finished smooth enough that you run your hand across it without thinking. It doesn’t announce itself. It doesn’t need to.
