American black walnut.
Rich, warm, timeless.
We use solid American black walnut, one of the most prized hardwoods in American furniture making. The grain is deep chocolate-brown with natural variation that tells the story of the tree it came from.
Walnut takes a hand-rubbed oil finish beautifully and darkens to a rich espresso tone over the years. It’s the wood that looks at home in any style of room.

Feels like it’s been in the family
since before you were born.
The Sherwood is built around a full-length trestle stretcher that connects two solid end supports and anchors the whole table to the floor. It’s the structure farmhouse tables have relied on for generations, and for good reason: it’s extraordinarily stable, endlessly practical, and it looks better with age.
The top is wide and generous with a surface that shows the natural character of the grain. Not distressed. Not artificially aged. Just real wood, honestly finished, with the kind of texture that makes every meal feel a little more grounded. It’s the table that turns a house into a home.
Three ways we make this
impossible to regret.
We’ve thought through every point of risk in buying a $4,000+ table from a small workshop online. Here’s how we remove each one.
