About
Meet Christian.

I’m Christian, the woodworker behind Oak & Ash. It started the way a lot of good things do, with a problem at home. My wife was tired of all the cheap veneer furniture out there, the kind that looks fine in a photo and falls apart in a few years. So I started building custom pieces for our own home instead.
What began as a simple hobby grew into Oak & Ash. One table led to a neighbor’s bench, which led to a cutting board for a friend’s wedding, which led to a shop in Columbia, Tennessee where I build heirloom furniture full-time.
Everything I make is solid hardwood, whether white oak, black walnut, or hard maple. Every piece is cut, joined, and finished by hand, one commission at a time. No production runs, no particleboard, no shortcuts in the joinery. When you order, your piece doesn’t exist yet. I draw it for your space, you approve it, and then I build it.
The goal is simple: make the kind of furniture that gets handed down instead of thrown out. Pieces your kids fight over one day. That’s the whole point of doing it this way.
If you have something in mind, I’d love to hear about it. Call, text, or email me directly at Christian@oakash.com.
